Our work with MiracleFeet focuses on writing, graphic design, and print/project management for their annual reports. Each report completed since 2013 features content important to prospective donors, such as vision, mission, and approach; a message from the leadership; an explanation of clubfoot and how MiracleFeet is transforming lives around the world; program updates/accomplishments; patient stories; supporter recognition; and a financial summary. The look and feel of the report has evolved with the organization’s branding.
A young organization, MiracleFeet has experienced explosive growth since 2011. They had more than 25,000 children in treatment for clubfoot in 19 developing counties as of fall 2017. Untreated clubfoot is one of the leading causes of disability in much of the world. In addition to pain and limited mobility, the condition contributes to neglect, abuse, illiteracy, and an elevated risk of lifelong poverty. Though at $250 the cost of treatment is relatively low, many barriers to treatment (such as a lack of clinics and trained providers) exist in low-resource countries.
The annual report has served as an essential fundraising and communications tool for the organization. Assembling the data/content facilitates program evaluation, strategic planning, and analysis of relationships with key stakeholders. In addition to documenting the organization’s history, the annual reports are a helpful recruitment tool for staff and volunteers. Perhaps most importantly, a professionally designed annual report provides instant credibility when meeting with prospective supporters around the world.
