The Children’s Aid Society
Curriculum design is rewarding work, especially when the subject matter is as important as teen health and the prevention of teen pregnancy. Archetype’s partnership with The Children’s Aid Society/Carrera Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program began in 2011 with editing, design, and print management for multiple grade levels of Power Group and progressed to include the production of the Above the Waist curriculum. Archetype also created two trade show exhibits to help promote the program.

Based in New York City, CAS-Carrera is an evidence-based, long-term program that helps young people avoid becoming parents during the second decade of their lives. Intervention efforts are premised on the belief that when young people know their own value and believe their future is filled with exciting possibilities, they take action to reduce their risk of becoming teen parents. The program received a White House-supported Social Innovation Fund award in 2011 and is designated as "Top-Tier" by the nonpartisan Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy. Female participants in CAS-Carrera are 50% less likely to give birth as a teen.
